The UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a mandatory digital travel clearance required for visitors from eligible visa-exempt countries entering the United Kingdom for tourism, business, transit, or short-term study. It was introduced as part of the UK's border security modernisation programme.

As of 2024, most travellers from visa-exempt countries are required to obtain an ETA before travelling to the United Kingdom. The ETA is electronically linked to your passport — there is no physical document to carry.
